how to target corporate audiences with design

Entered by: Ian @ 22/09/2009 09:05:00

For those of us who are not graphic design savvy, it may not be obvious, but by using particular colours, shapes and images in a website design, you can in-fact target specific audiences. We have asked our ecommerce design experts to pull together some top design tips to target corporate audiences with your website design.

  • Your logo design should be very crisp and clean. For a very corporate and professional look the use of blues, and black give the best effect. Typical corporate logo design consists of a symbol on the left, with san serif font to the right for a modern result.
  • The website design layout should be very clean, crisp, and sharp. Although it's good to use web2.0 effects, they should be kept to only simple effects such as gradients and subtle shadows. Ensure to use plenty of white space in the design, and ensure the site is easy to follow as an end user.
  • Keep the use of colour to a minimum. Typical corporate website designs will use mostly white, with a 2-3 colour palette. This will ensure the website design is clean, and corporate looking.
  • Any images used should be of high quality. Any unprofessional or busy looking images will take away from the overall look of the design, and the site will not attract corporate audiences. Images should work well with the colour palette and should convey a professional and corporate message.

By following design tips like these you will result in a professional website design, or ecommerce design that will target and attract corporate audiences.
