Using Multi Channel Selling effectively

Multi-channel selling is a very basic, but powerful way to improve your business results. Simply put, Multi-channel selling is giving customers more than one route by which to buy from you. In Bricks and Mortar terms it is akin to having two stores but the online world gives even more advantages.

An Ecommerce Solution gives round the clock, international selling potential and Multi-channel online selling directly multiplies your conversion rates.

Now many sellers would consider that selling their wares through both eBay and their own Ecommerce Website would be sufficient to be taking advantage of the multi-channel oportunities, but this is extremely short sighted. Throw in Amazon if you like but you still probably aren't making full use of the power of multiple channels.

The internet allows you to very cheaply retarget your selling for different audiences. What would require a major refit of a high street store can be achieved for a minimal cost on the internet, pitching a similar set of of products at wildly different audiences.

As a practical example take a bicycle shop. While the mainstay of their business could be the low tech mountain and race bikes favoured by commuters a small but well priced amount of their stock could be focussed on the more niche markets such as downhill mountain bikes and BMXs. With the relative anonymity of eBay and Amazon as well as the  central selling location of their Ecommerce Solution this business will increase their sales considerably, but by adding a new store front to their existing solution that concentrates on the specialist market they will most definitely boost their sales of what was formerly only an occasional conversion.

Using Multiple Channels in this way also allows you, the seller, to refocus your business easily to keep above the curve of changing trends and fashions, making sure your profits are always maximised and your business is always booming.
