Creating an Eye catching Email Marketing Design

Email has become an affordable and powerful marketing solution and has allowed businesses to develop a more successful marketing literature and strategies. As technology has changed traditional marketing has changed, advertising in magazines, newspapers, on billboards, television, radio and through direct mailer, are still widely used but are not cost effective and have to apply to a broad target audience. Email marketing is a great solution to these problems as businesses can send bespoke messages to certain clients and customers, on a regular basis at low price. Sometimes even sent to customers who have willingly given out there email address and therefore already know what the company does or are very interested in what they may offer. Email marketing can be used for enewletters or newsletter designs, advertise offers or new products, for new customers, brand awareness or just to keep the customers up to date with your business.

To create an eye-catching email marketing design, there are a number of important things that should be taken into account. The ‘Subject line’ must be interesting or intriguing, it needs to draw the attention of the user or it could end up in the trash as junk mail. The preview pane must be the must be the most interesting part of the email, the boring things such as large amounts of body copy, unsubscription information, company information should be move out of the preview pane area and to bottom of the email. The preview of an email should include the selling point and a call to action. A call to action should show the user or receiver a clear message of what the email contains or what the email wants them to do. The email must be easy to follow, not filled with offers and distractions, just clear instructions for example ‘Get 25% off, click here’. As an email marketing campaign can be a key part of your business stationery it should include clear corporate identity and information, logo design, and a link to the company website. This will help to keep a link between the marketing campaign and other corporate branding, ecommerce web design, television adverts etc. A marketing email should reflect your brand identity.
